Manager of Accounts Payable

Position Overview

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to join the firm’s management company finance team. The person in this role will report into the Management Company Controller and will be responsible for the processing, tracking, and payment of the firm’s invoices and expense reporting from various departments across the organization. The successful candidate will manage other accounts payable personnel, off-shore service providers and multiple work streams.


• Manage all aspects of AP, ensuring that vendor invoices and payments are processed timely and accurately, including:

o Manage high volume of vendor invoices and prepare allocation of invoices by business units and/or deal codes

o Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
o Communicate with vendors to provide direction on billing logistics, timelines and points of

o Set up invoices for payment and process check requests and wire transfers
o Audit and process expense reports submitted by administrative staff
o Master vendor maintenance, W-9 documentation and annual 1099 reporting

  • Assist in the cash management of bill paying entities

  • Analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts to assist in monthly and quarter closes

  • Coordinate weekly check runs, review check/ACH batches and wire payment process

  • Manage month and year-end AP close processes including AP and T&E accruals, SOX compliance and audit


  • Prepare ad hoc operating expense analysis

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on implementing best practices and process improvements; other special projects as assigned


The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year university required, accounting courses preferred

  • 8 year minimum experience in a corporate finance role

  • accounting experience/public accounting experience, accounts payable experience preferred

  • Experience assisting with monthly and quarterly close

  • Familiarity with financial statements

  • Comfort with increasingly complex chart of accounts

  • Experience with PeopleSoft preferred

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • High degree of professionalism with demonstrated ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner

  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
