Senior Legal Affairs Associate

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Legal Affairs Associate will be part of the Legal and Compliance Department. The Senior Legal Affairs Associate will interact with members of all of the different business units of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the following tasks:

  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance Department and outside law firms on a full range of legal issues facing the holding company, its investment advisers and affiliated funds

  • Contribute to the tracking, drafting and filing of SEC and other regulatory securities filings

  • Quarterback all compliance related regulatory reporting requirements globally

  • Manage KYC process – completion of forms, structure charts, document collection and notarization and responding to follow up questions from counterparties

  • Oversee corporate entity management – manage formations, dissolutions, name changes and structure chart updates

  • Draft various legal documents, including corporate records, resolutions and formation documents

  • Assist with all litigation matters, which may include, tracking, paper and electronic document collection, email searching and coordinating with outside counsel.

  • May be requested to perform other duties not mentioned above

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a top undergraduate program with a strong academic background.

  • Seven to ten years of business or legal experience; experience at a major law firm, company or in-house at an investment firm is a bonus.

  • Diplomatic interpersonal skills to interact with the more than 950 worldwide employees and with the key partners of our external law firms.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail; strong sense of ownership and follow-through skills.

  • Self-starter with initiative and confidence to take responsibility for decisions on time-sensitive matters.

  • Creative problem solving ability and sound judgment.

  • Rock-solid discretion and capacity to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
