Controller

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Oversee the preparation of the quarter-end and year-end financial statement packages for various Limited Partner and General Partner entities.

  • Oversee the preparation of all accounting, reporting (financial and tax) and compliance of a select group of funds

  • Coordinate with Fund Reporting Controller the preparation of year-end financials with the firm's outside auditor

  • Coordinate with the VP of Tax the preparation of year-end financials for GP Entities • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed

  • Act as technical resource for Limited Partner and General Partner Accountant(s) and provide training to new employees as needed.

  • Review, enhance and improve quarterly financial reporting package for Limited Partner and General Partner groups as well as other quarterly reports tied to these packages.

  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial reporting

EDUCATION and/or RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a very strong work ethic and desire to learn.

  • Must have experience in accounting for flow-through entities, such as limited partnerships.

  • Must have experience in understanding terms of securities, legal documents and investments.

  • Must have strong analytical skills.

  • Must have experience with general ledger accounting systems. Experience with Investran is huge plus.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interact with people on all levels within the organization.

  • 10+ years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA required.

  • Qualifications also include strong organizational skills, attention to detail, focused work ethic, and a team player attitude. Exposure to international accounting practice is a plus.
