Finance Operations Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will include some or all of the following for multiple funds across strategy and account type:

  • Gain overall understanding of Credit business and manage team at all levels through overall finance and operations responsibilities for liquid and distressed businesses

  • Manage a newly built team of 3-4 people responsible for maintaining accounting transactions in Geneva.

  • Liaise between Core Portfolio Operations team and Core Finance team to ensure inputs result in desired output

  • Create and implement control processes surrounding accounting processing in Geneva

  • Create and implement desktop procedures

  • Be a thought leader across Finance and Operations

  • Design, develop and maintain an outsourcing model for identified procedures

  • Understand complex investment structures and recording of accounting entries related to investment structures and their impact on reporting

  • Participate in year-end audit process and ability to support accounting related transactions

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-10 years of public accounting, audit and/or tax, or other relevant work experience/role at similar Investment Advisor in a rigorous environment

  • Relevant work experience in fixed income asset classes with familiarity of bank loans, high yield debt and credit derivatives a plus

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under deadlines

  • Self-starter with initiative

  • Strong problem-solving skills and solutions oriented approach

  • Ability to adapt to complex and changing circumstances

  • Strong managerial skills and change agent

  • Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to interact with outside parties and personnel across all levels of the firm

  • Ability to decipher complex legal documents

  • Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through skills

  • Detail-oriented, conscientious and energetic professional

  • Strong Excel skills

 

 EDUCATION

  • Four-year college degree with a strong academic background.

  • Major in accounting, finance or related degree required.

  • CPA, CFA or equivalent qualification a plus.
