Job Description Summary
Our firm is seeking a Vice President, Product Development and Management to lead large cross-functional teams in the development and launch of new private investment funds across various strategies from initial idea inception through concept development, offering terms (including pricing), market testing, operational reviews, messaging development, legal and marketing materials preparation, internal sales training, and launch. This person will guide and manage teams composed of investment, legal, compliance, marketing, investor relations, structuring, tax, accounting, and other members, and will bring all parties together in creating and launching a product in a comprehensive, but efficient, format. This person will also directly prepare and/or maintain the firm’s overall product roadmap, product development process, and an array of tools, templates, references and resources relating to private investment funds. The opportunity may include work on additional strategic initiatives as needed. The position will report to the Senior Vice President, Product Development & Management.

Responsibilities
Project Management of New Fund Development Initiatives: 80-85%
Serve as the hub of the process of creating and launching new private investment funds by leading large cross-functional teams composed of investment, legal, compliance, marketing, investor relations, structuring, tax, accounting, and other team members
Act as the overall project manager for the fund development process and provide guidance and feedback from both a product-specific and overall platform perspective on: Initial concept development, Term sheet preparation (including pricing) and refinement, Testing design and execution, Operational issues,
Messaging development, Legal and marketing materials preparation, Internal sales training, and Launch
Serve as a fund development team’s principal point of contact and interface with the firm’s senior management, including: Directly preparing or comprehensively reviewing and commenting on all presentation memoranda to senior management; Coordinating and actively participating in all reviews with senior management
Coach and advise a fund development project team on appropriate processes, methodologies, and resources
Promote knowledge management, leverage best practices across different investment teams, and serve as a subject matter expert and resource to answer questions relating to product terms, pricing, strategies, and structures
Preparation and Maintenance of Product Roadmap, Development Process, and Tools: 10-15%
Prepare and maintain the firm’s overall product roadmap and advise the firm’s senior management on proposed updates to the same
Update and maintain the firm’s product development process and seek to continuously improve the same
Develop and maintain an array of tools, templates, references, and resources to assist in the development of products
Support of Strategic Initiatives: 0-10%
Lead or participate in select strategic initiatives or special projects as needed
Education
BS/BA or equivalent required, MBA preferred
Work Experience
10+ years of experience in financial services or investment management (preferably in private equity) in a product development or related role
