Portfolio Analytics, Manager of Data Governance and Acquisition

Job Description Summary

The individual will be a member of the Portfolio Analytics team within the company’s Data Office. The role will have exposure to a range of activities including team management, data governance and analysis, data expansion and assist in any continuous improvement projects as needed. The role requires a collaborative individual able to communicate clearly and effectively both strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have excellent analytical and reporting skills.  Familiarity with financial statements and financial concepts. Ability to manage priorities, solid data management knowledge and attention to detail.

  • Experience with data governance and managing large sets of data

  • Experience with creating, developing, and managing new processes

  • Self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Has enthusiasm for the mission of the company and for its diverse and inclusive culture

  • Proficient in MS Teams, Apps, PowerPoint, Word

  • Advanced Excel skills, Bloomberg experience a plus

  • General knowledge of CapitalIQ, Pitchbook, Microstrategy

 

Responsibilities

Data Governance and Expansion: 80%

  • Aid in instituting best practices for data management within Portfolio Analytics

  • Lead team in enhancing data governance initiatives within Portfolio Analytics

  • Increase scope of data governed within Portfolio Analytics team

  • Work with internal company teams to expand our unstructured data set

  • Structure unstructured data for internal consumption

Team Leadership:10%

  • Mentor and coach indirect reports in support of the Firm’s performance and development process

  • Active listener who will foster and encourage a team-orientated atmosphere

  • Proactively manage the team so that work is being done efficiently and assist with prioritization as needed

  • Hire, train, mentor, assign/monitor workload, where applicable

  • Perform annual reviews, where applicable

Technology Development & Enhancements: 10%

  • Maintain accurate information across systems

  • Trouble-shoot problems as they arise

  • Testing, as needed

  • Document processes, as needed

 

Education:

BS/BA or equivalent

 

Work Experience:

10+ years financial services experience
