Private Equity Accountant

FIRM OVERVIEW:

This firm is a private equity and venture capital investor focused on high performing lower middle-market buyout, growth, turn-around and venture capital funds. Their sole business is to make investments through separate accounts, which they customize for large institutional investors, including public pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

They are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, detail-oriented individual with zero to two years of experience who will be responsible for the accounting and reporting of several investment partnership vehicles and related partnership co-investment vehicles. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Accounting and recordkeeping (i.e. creating journal entries) for various partnership entities including tracking and monitoring of investments, and ensuring application of appropriate allocations in compliance with various partnership agreements;

  • Client reporting—investment write-ups, preparation of quarterly financial statements, maintenance of partner capital accounts and various other client reporting projects;

  • Working with the Finance Managers to complete ad-hoc company projects;

  • Assist in the identification of on-going technological enhancements and development of procedures to ensure effective use of technology.

This person will report to a Finance Manager and work closely with all members of the Finance Team including the VPs and the Chief Financial Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in accounting or finance.

  • Private equity fund accounting experience and familiarity with fund-of-funds structures is desirable but not required.

  • Strong computer skills including a high proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
